Smoke Masters
SmokeMasters Championship BBQ Team is based in Memphis, TN. Led by Pitmaster Will “Uncle Woo” Hair. We are a professional competition BBQ team that specializes in Whole Hog. Though, we have been known to smoke other delicious meats!
In 2007, a group of friends were sitting around one night and came up with the idea to start a competition BBQ Team. Since then, they have gone on to compete in and win some of the largest competitions in the Memphis region.
Led by Pitmasters Tal Goldsby and Daniel Hair, the team, cooked for Gnarly Head Wines and won Third Place Ribs at the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest in 2012. At the 2019 Memphis in May contest, SmokeMasters competed in Whole Hog for the first time at this event. Led by Pitmaster Will “Uncle Woo” Hair, SmokeMasters did not disappoint. At the end of the weekend, we were honored to finish in Second Place Whole Hog! In 2021 and 2022, SmokeMasters finished Fourth Place in Whole Hog at Memphis in May!
Even when the entire SmokeMasters BBQ team can’t be at a contest, our Pitmaster Woo and his wife Katie are there to keep the smokers going in pursuit of Grand Championships!
SmokeMasters Championship BBQ Team competes in the Memphis Barbecue Network circuit of contests and was the 2018 and 2019 Team of the Year.
